Here are the headlines …
Collymore gives transfer hope
Former Aston Villa player Stan Collymore has offered his take on Emile Smith Rowe’s chances of leaving Arsenal for Villa Park.
Smith Rowe was the subject of a second offer from Villa after a £ 25million opening bid was rejected by Arsenal earlier this month.
Mikel Arteta’s side turned down a £ 30million package from Villa this week as Dean Smith’s men look to bolster their ranks ahead of the 2021-22 season.
Smith wants to bring in players to bolster his attacking options whether or not Jack Grealish leaves Villa with Manchester City eager to sign the England star.
Man City and Grealish update emerges
Villa fans have reacted to the latest reports on Grealish’s future.
It was reported on Friday that Grealish was ‘close’ to a move to Manchester City for around £ 100million.
However, Villa want to stave off the interest of the Premier League champions by handing Grealish a new contract less than a year after signing his last extension.
Grealish is targeted by City boss Pep Guardiola, with the Spaniard an admirer of the 25-year-old having been linked with a move last year.

The Villa Summer Transfer window should be loaded.
Smith’s side have already added Emiliano Buendia to their ranks in a record-breaking deal with Norwich City.
Shortly thereafter, Ashley Young returned to Villa Park a decade after leaving Second City for Manchester United.
Buendia will step up Villa’s attack and ease the burden on captain Grealish to be Smith’s main creative outlet while Young will bring top level experience and a very recent taste for success after winning Serie A with Inter Milan last season.
Douglas will miss the preseason
Douglas Luiz is expected to miss Villa’s pre-season preparations due to his Copa America and Tokyo Olympics involvement with Brazil next month.
After playing in the Copa America, Luiz and his compatriots will be tasked with defending the gold medal won by Brazil at the 2016 Olympics in their home country and after being drawn in Group D alongside the ‘Germany, Côte d’Ivoire and Saudi Arabia.
Luiz will not be returning to Bodymoor Heath until at least early August.
Named alongside Daniel Alves, Gabriel Magalhaes, Bruno Guimaraes, Malcom and Matheus Cunha, Luiz has every chance of winning a medal when he arrives in Japan with an Olympic team of stars.
