Transfer the news LIVE! Tottenham beat Arsenal for Gabriel Jesus; Tchouameni to Liverpool; Lewandowski last
The Premier League season has only just ended but it’s already time to consider what is shaping up to be an exciting summer transfer window.
Champions Manchester City have already agreed a deal for superstar striker Erling Haaland and are now on the hunt for a new midfielder, while Liverpool will again have to strengthen their squad just to keep up and are trying to sign Monegasque Aurélien Tchouameni.
It’s another new dawn at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag, and plenty of new faces are expected at Old Trafford, while Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has already hinted at new attacking signings once he takes over. Todd Boehly’s check at Stamford Bridge completed.
Tottenham need to add more quality to their squad now that they are back in the Champions League, while Arsenal are set to back Mikel Arteta again after exceeding expectations to qualify for the Europa League. Reports suggest the north London rivals are battling for the signature of City star Gabriel Jesus.
Robert Lewandowski’s future will also be a major talking point as he prepares to leave Bayern Munich amid Barcelona links, although Kylian Mbappe has announced he will stay at Paris Saint-Germain and not join. Real Madrid after all, leaving La Liga furious.
The window opens on June 10 and lasts until 23:00 BST on September 1.

CASE OVER! Liverpool sign Carvalho
Liverpool are wasting no time, having confirmed the imminent arrival of Fabio Carvalho for next season.
The youngster was expected to sign from Fulham in January but a deal failed to cross the line before the deadline expired.
The teenager has scored 10 goals and provided eight assists this season as Fulham have been promoted to the Premier League.
Januzaj and Monreal released by Sociedad
Two former Premier League players, Adnan Januzaj and Nacho Monreal, have been released by Real Sociedad.
United appoint Ten Hag assistants
Manchester United have confirmed the appointments of Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren as assistant coaches to Erik ten Hag.
Van der Gaag was Ten Hag’s right-hand man at Ajax, while McClaren – Sir Alex Ferguson’s former assistant at United – appointed Ten Hag to a similar role under him while in charge of FC Twente.
“I thought I worked hard until I met Erik,” McClaren said recently.
“His great strength is not only in his attention to detail and organisation. He has a clear philosophy of how he wants to play football, of the environment he wants to create.”
CASE OVER! Villa Kamara sign
It’s quite a blow for Aston Villa. As reported earlier, Boubacar Kamara has agreed to join on a free transfer after his Marseille contract expired.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who can also play in defence, has signed a five-year contract.
Juventus want Koulibaly
If you think a transfer window isn’t completely without mentioning Houssam Aouar, then you better add Kalidou Koulibaly to that list.
Tuttosport report that Juventus are considering signing the Napoli defender, who appears to have been on the verge of leaving Napoli for around a decade.
Massimiliano Allegri is a fan of the 30-year-old and a cut-price deal could be in sight with just one year remaining on his contract.
Man United want to sell Wan-Bissaka and Bailly
Manchester United still intend to sell Eric Bailly and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, reports Fabrizio Romano
Edinson Cavani’s exit is already set and now United will listen to offers for both defenders.
Whether anyone is interested remains to be seen.
Aouar again of interest
It wouldn’t be a transfer window without Houssem Aouar.
Also in Lyon, the former Arsenal and Juventus target is being watched by Copa del Rey winners Real Betis.
According to Foot Mercato, Betis are keen to link Aouar with another former Premier League target in Nabil Fekir and hope to complete a deal worth around £15million.
Liverpool sign deal with Tchouameni
Liverpool have agreed a deal for Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, according to reports.
The France international, 22, has been rumored as a key transfer target for Jurgen Klopp and was previously on the radars of Manchester United and Chelsea.
French outlet RMC Sport are now reporting that Liverpool and Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with Tchouameni now having to choose who to join.
Neither side has yet agreed a fee with Monaco, who are said to be expecting around €80m for a prized asset still under contract until 2024.
Tottenham will rival Arsenal for Gabriel Jesus
Tottenham and Arsenal look set to fight for Gabriel Jesus this summer.
Former Manchester City assistant Mikel Arteta is known for his desire to reunite with the Brazilian striker, with the Gunners having held promising talks with agent Marcelo Pettinati.
Jesus has remained an important figure for Premier League champions City this term and started yesterday’s dramatic win over Aston Villa, although he is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract and will be pushed back down the Etihad pecking order by the impending arrival of Erling Haaland.
On Monday, The Telegraph reported that Spurs are set to compete with Arsenal for the signature of Jesus as they seek to bolster a powerful attack containing Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski, who will arrive on a permanent transfer from Juventus.
Kane looks set to stay in north London after Tottenham return to the Champions League, although manager Antonio Conte’s fate remains uncertain despite the important achievement.
It also remains to be seen how City will react to Spurs’ pursuit of Jesus given their failed and frustrating pursuit for Kane last summer…
Ten Hag press conference
